WHAT IS THE EUROPEAN STUDENT CARD?

ESC aims to simplify the mobility of students in Europe by interconnecting HEIs information systems. It would allow for the recognition of student identity and status, regardless of institution, in accordance with each country’s specific procedures and for access easier student services in any EU member State that is part of the scheme.

WHO CAN GET AN ESC CARD?

Any student enrolled in a higher education institution which is registered on the exchanging platform. Once Its university is connected on the platform the student cards they issue get the status of European student card. This status will be indicated by the European student logo printed on the card.

HOW CAN I APPLY FOR THE CARD?

The home HEI will register its students on the exchange platform. The students will not have to apply, but they will receive an email in order to validate the registration and assert their rights.

HOW MUCH DOES THE CARD COST?

The student card will be the one delivered by the home HEIs without additional costs.

HOW LONG IS THE CARD VALID FOR?

The ESC is valid for the entire study period. It does not change the period of validity of the original student card.
